A Room With an Ocean View
There’s nothing quite like adding an ocean view to your vacation—the sound of waves lapping, the smell of fresh ocean air, and the sun gleaming off the water all add to a sense of peace and relaxation.
Meritage Collection guests can take in ocean and bay views in Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Santa Barbara and Kauai.
“When guests at Paséa Hotel & Spa step out onto their room’s private balcony, they feel immersed in the heart of Huntington Beach,” says VIP Services Manager Christine Schaffer of the collection’s latest resort. “Our guests experience breathtaking ocean views of the Pacific, speckled with surfers riding Surf City’s famous waves. Guests also take in views of the iconic Huntington Beach Pier, only half a mile away, as well as beautiful Catalina Island in the distance. A steady flow of beach cruisers, which our guests can reserve complimentary, can be seen riding up and down the scenic 12.8 mile Huntington Beach Bike Trail that runs along the edge of the beach.”
Schaffer adds: “All views from Paséa’s guest rooms showcase quintessential Huntington Beach, which we encourage our guests to step out and experience for themselves!”
Ko’a Kea Hotel & Resort offers Kauai’s closest accommodations to the sand via its oceanfront rooms. “Ninety percent of our guest rooms have a full or partial ocean view or are oceanfront,” explains Marketing Manager Dana Flower. “If you’re in an oceanfront room, you take 15 steps, and you’re in the water and ready to go. Poipu Beach, where the hotel is located, is consistently rated the best beach in Kauai. It’s very swimmable, and it’s great for snorkeling, surfing and kayaking.”
Guests at Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach can rent a Duffy boat, kayak or paddleboard, or just enjoy the bay views from their balconies.
“We have a total of 47 bay-view guest rooms that overlook the Newport Bay, which are lined with million-dollar yachts out front,” says Front Office Manager Kori Haug.
At Santa Barbara’s only oceanfront resort, guests have a variety of ocean-view rooms to choose from, in addition to enjoying the view from zero-edge saline swimming pools.
“Our ocean-view rooms and suites offer panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean as well as private patios or balconies,” says Shashi Poudyal, general manager of Bacara Resort & Spa. “There is no other resort in town that offers unobstructed ocean views other than Bacara.”
Consider adding a bit of sea and sand to your next trip—after all, an ocean view makes the perfect addition to almost any vacation.
