Xanadu’s Yoga Social Series Comes to Huntington Beach

Xanadu-Yoga-Social-SeriesYou may have tried yoga, but you’ve never experienced yoga like this—on the Paséa Hotel & Spa Ocean Lawn adjacent to Huntington’s sandy beaches, specialized headphones canceling out all but the DJ music and guidance from top Equinox yoga instructors as the sun melts into the ocean. Afterward, refreshments and conversation with like-minded fellow attendees as you sample small bites and enjoy the perfect Southern California weather. Welcome to the Xanadu Yoga Social series, a partnership between Paséa Hotel & Spa and The Xanadu Life, a nonprofit whose mission is to inspire people to enjoy the great outdoors via unique experiences and playful connectivity.

“We had our first event Oct. 23, and it sold out,” says Stefani Yocky, Paséa Hotel & Spa marketing manager. “This is one of the many initiatives that sets Paséa apart—our connection to the ocean and wellness—things we have in common with our partner, The Xanadu Life.”

The next Xanadu Yoga Social event takes place Sunday. Nov. 13, with a third on Dec. 11.

The 90-minute yoga class is appropriate for all levels, with instructors happy to offer modifications.

“After the class, we have a fireside social,” says Heidi Hong, co-founder of The Xanadu Life. “It’s about two hours where attendees can grab a glass of wine or kombucha on tap with small bites. There are chair massages available from Aarna Spa, and then we also have raffles through a partnership among local businesses. All the raffle proceeds go to fund our coastal cleanup, which is our initiative for plastic-free seas. We also have acro-yoga performances. It’s a really unique way for people to get to know each other and start to build community.”

After the session, stay for a fireside social with acro-yoga performances.

Hong says that ending the yoga class as the sunsets makes for a perfect evening. “That in itself seals the experience of yoga where we’re celebrating life, the ocean, the beauty, and we’re celebrating nature. It sets it apart from being in a yoga studio space where you’re indoors and surrounded by walls. What better way to do yoga than outside in fresh air and with palm trees all around you.”
