Napa Valley Fly Guides

Napa Valley Fly Guides is a locally owned and operated Fly Fishing Guide Service in Northern California. They supply all necessary gear: waders and boots, fly rods and all associated flies, etc. Their guides can help you improve your cast, read the water, and teach you entimology, what fish like to eat how and where to safely enter the river. Putah Creek is where we do most of our walk-and-wade trips. It is a tailwater that lies at the south end of Lake Berryessa and is a Wild Trout Fishery; barbless hooks only and is catch and release only; so you will learn proper handling and release of any fish caught. You will also soon learn that Fly Fishing is about a lot more than just the fish. Its a great blend of researching where you’re going to fish, what flies work on that particular river at a given time of year, hiking and searching out that perfect riffle in a river. You will hopefully also learn rivers are a valuable resource, and if treated with respect and protected, will serve as a place to escape to and a place to unwind. Fish on! Email or call 707.294.4738.
