Join composer, performer, and 2019 Miss America titleholder
Nia Imani Franklin in an intimate event celebrating Women in the Arts.
An in-demand composer, Franklin has had her music performed
by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Friction Quartet, and others. She was
Festival Napa Valley’s 2021 Composer-in-Residence.
With a degree in music from East Carolina University and a
master’s degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts,
Franklin is a powerful voice for empowering women in music, a mission advanced
by "Compose Her," an organization she founded in 2019.
She was a recipient of the William R. Kenan, Jr. Fellowship
at Lincoln Center Education, following which she earned the titles Miss New
York 2018 and Miss America 2019.
As a recording artist, Franklin’s vocal style ranges from
classical to R&B to gospel. She will be performing in concert at San
Francisco’s Salesforce Tower on May 15.
The “Women in the Arts” Dinner includes a 4-course meal with
wine pairings provided by Peju Winery and featuring Sara Fowler, Vice President
of Operations and Wine Making as well as Trinitas Cellars featuring General
