USA TODAY - So many restaurants, so little time. Napa Valley is home to more than 125 restaurants, with new spots opening their doors almost every day. Between vineyard tours and wine tastings, it’s tough to squeeze everything in, but there’s no good excuse to skip a meal here. There are too many delicious dishes waiting.
Whatever you’re craving, Napa Valley has you covered. From authentic Italian at Ca’Momi Osteria, to finger licking barbeque at Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin’ BBQ and pan roasted mussels with Applewood-smoked bacon at Celadon, there’s plenty to choose from. Restaurant wait staff can help you sort through the numerous options and are typically happy to share their favorites. Remember they eat there more than even the most devoted regular.
But some of the best lunch spots in Napa Valley are so relaxed that wait service isn’t on the menu. Don’t mistake that for meaning the food isn’t as good. The farm fresh bruschetta that comes out the side window of the Clif Family Bruschetteria Food Truck will knock your socks off. (Recognize the name. Yep, that’s the same family that brought us Clif Energy Bars.) Gott’s Roadside serves up a mean burger, with options like sweet potato fries and onion rings on the side. And there’s Oxbow Public Market, where you can just wander your way through from one taste to the next, whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner time.

Fivetown Grocery
Fivetown Grocery is located in The Village at Vista Collina Resort, about four miles from downtown Napa. Salads and sandwiches dominate the menu. Salad choices include the likes of quinoa with avocado, kale, pastrami, and sprouts, or millet tabbouleh with roasted squash, French feta, and rye spiced hummus. Sandwiches require two hands to hold, and come in varieties including fennel salami with prosciutto, mortadella, and smoked mozzarella, or house smoked chicken breast with muenster. All breads come from Napa Valley favorite, The Model Bakery. Picnic tables are available just outside the door, or you can spread out on the huge lawn area, and play a game of cornhole in between bites.
